Election date (Update: 40% turnout in QPA - tremendous result)
The election will take place on Thursday 22 May, 2014, the same day as the local london elections and the European Parliamentary elections. The count will take place on the friday 23 May, 2014 commencing at 8:30am at the Queens Mother Sport Centre, 223 Vauxhall Bridge Road, London SW1V 1EL.
3 councillors are to be elected for each of the 4 wards (QPA, QPB, QPC, and QPD). The Queen’s Park Community Council will have 12 community councillors in total.
The Polling Station
Polling hours are 7am to 10pm.
There will be three ballot boxes at each of the four Queen’s Park Community Council polling places. One box for the local elections, a second for the European Parliamentary elections and a third for the Queen’s Park Community Council elections. Electors will be requested to place their ballot papers into the correct box for that election.
There will be a unique identifying mark on the back of the ballot paper. Polling station staff will be required to complete a ‘Corresponding Numbers List’. This consists of two columns 1) Ballot Paper Number 2) Elector Number.
Postal voters registered within the Queen’s Park Community Council area can take their ballot paper envelopes to any of the polling stations within the Queen’s Park Community Council area and hand them to polling staff during the hours the polling place is open on polling day, 7am to 10pm.
British, Irish, Commonwealth and European Union citizens are eligible to vote at these Elections.
I am standing in QPA ward, voting will be at St Jude's chapel on Ilbert Street.
There are 4 polling places within the Queen's Park Community Council area. I will be standing for QPA, my local area where I live.
- QPA - St Jude's Church Hall, 67 Ilbert Street, W10.
- QPB - Beethoven Centre, Third Avenue W10.
- QPC- New Avenues Youth Project, Third Avenue W10.
- QPD - St Luke's Church Hall, Fernhead Road W9.
